The Trump administration made a devastating move on Tuesday (June 10) to allow entry to hunters into Alaska National Preserves. This means they can now engage in previously banned activities such as baiting bear traps, killing denning blackbear/wolf/coyotes and their babies, hunting of swimming caribou with and without motorboats, as well as other practices. This decision is heavily condemned by environmental and wildlife groups alike. Maya’s Macarons does not support this decision. This lifting of the ban will be effective on July 9. We at Maya’s Macarons are devastated to be helpless about this situation.
