Gummi's new cage setup + Rocky and Tyson's updates!

Hey guys! I've just changed Gummi's cage setup and wanted to talk more about it! Here's some photos~

First, I put together a very cute signboard for her home! It's some hedgehog stickers that I found at Daiso. She's NOT lonely though and she doesn't need a partner. Did you know, hedgehogs are solitary animals. They do wonderfully on their own and tend to get into nasty fights when placed with other hedgehogs!

Next, the base of the cage. I was using bedding from Kaytee, and they have really good bedding. However, Gummi's cage is 1m long and it's very tiring for me to clean out a cage that big and replace the bedding every week. I decided to switch to fleece cloth bedding for her instead. Since I couldn't get fleece yet, I decided to get this washable peepad by RadPaw. It's as big as the cage and comes in cool designs. It's also anti slip at the bottom, and built to absorb a large dog's pee. This is much better for the environment as it's better to not use disposable ones. The surface of the peepad is very smooth and soft, which will be nice for her feet to walk on. It also contains no attractants, so it should not be toxic for smaller animals. Let's look forward to Gummi doing well with her new cage setup! That's her eating. And yes, she has a shark bed. Haha!

Now it's time to post some updates on Rocky and Tyson!

Today marks their 5th day living at my home. Maya thinks they're silly. She doesn't seem to mind Tyson, even though he's noisy. He's so little, and she just follows him with her eyes when he walks past her. Rocky's very wary of her because he tried to steal her toy from her while we were playing, and so he learnt the hard way from Maya. Sorry Rocky, you don't get to be so bossy anymore! It's good for him too, he does need to be corrected sometimes when he tries to push his weight around in another dog's territory. Here's a picture of all three of them together!

Maya used her new pee-tray correctly today. I'm so proud of her that she understands that since the boys are so messy, they need to have the bathroom to use for themselves. When I am at work, Rocky and Tyson stay in my bedroom, which is connected to the bathroom. Good girl Maya! She's more dependable and trustworthy than some people I know, seriously! XD

I visited the Pet Expo over the weekend, and purchased some clothes for my dogs from animal shelters so that I could help with their fundraising. Thank you Voices for Animals and Animal Lovers League! They look so cute in the clothes. Hope you guys enjoy the photos. Of course, I had to get the baby-est baby shirt for Tyson. Haha!
